Our sources and dates

Updated 26 September 2026

Every figure on AskTula is read from something the bank, the shop or the card network has published itself, and every figure shows who published it, the date we read it, and a link to the page it came from. This page explains how that works, and what we will not do.

Who we read

We read three kinds of publisher, and every offer names which one it came from:

  • Banks and card issuers: their card pages, offer pages and the most important terms and conditions they publish for each card.
  • Shops: offers a shop publishes for a bank's cards on its own site, such as a bank offer on a sale page.
  • Card networks: Visa and RuPay publish offers that apply because of the network on a card, not the bank that issued it.

We do not use coupon sites, forums, social media posts or other comparison sites as a source for any figure.

What every offer shows

Next to every offer we show the reward, the cap (or the words "No cap published"), any minimum order, the conditions, the date it ends or "No end date published", who published it, the date we read it, and a link to the page itself. Where we can, we also quote the line in the published terms that the figure comes from.

The date we read an offer is the latest date we confirmed it on the publisher's own page. If a later check finds the page has changed, the offer is corrected or withdrawn, and its date is not moved forward until it matches again.

How we keep the dates honest

Offers change, and a figure is only as good as the day it was read. Today we promise two things:

  • Every offer shows the date we last confirmed it on the publisher's own page. That date is never moved forward without a new check.
  • An offer is removed the day after its published end date.

We are building a scheduled recheck: offers from shops and card networks checked again after 30 days and removed after 90 if we cannot confirm them, and offers from banks checked again after 90 days and removed after 180. It is not running yet, and this page will say so on the day it starts. Until then, the date beside an offer is the one to go by, so please open the publisher's page before a large purchase.

What we refuse to publish

  • A rupee value for reward points, where the bank has not published what a point is worth. Today that is 1,349 of the 2,062 points offers we hold.
  • An offer past its published end date.
  • A guess where the terms are unclear. We say the terms are unclear instead.
  • An estimate presented as a stated figure. Where a bank publishes only a maximum or a range, the offer carries the label Estimate.
  • Offers from outside India.
  • Any ranking influenced by money. We take no money from any bank, card issuer or shop, and no card is ranked higher because of a commercial relationship.

The numbers on this site, and what they mean

Figures that describe the whole of our data are computed from the same data that builds the pages, each time the site is built, and are never typed by hand. These are the counts on 30 Sep 2026, with the definition of each. Offers end every day, so the counts change with each build.

FigureOn 30 Sep 2026What it means
Live offers11,437Unique offers, after deduplication, that are publishable and that OUTLIVE the build date. An offer whose last valid day is the build date is excluded, because these pages are built once and read for weeks. Offers the verdict engine refuses, offers outside India, charges, insurance covers and EMI-only offers are all excluded.
Credit cards covered593Cards with at least one live offer.
Issuers47Banks and card issuers with at least one live offer.
Shops340Shops with at least one live offer.
Offers that publish a cap28.8%Share of live offers that publish a maximum value. The rest publish a rate with no stated ceiling.
Median published capRs 500Median published cap, in rupees, across live offers that publish one.
Offers with a minimum order35.4%Share of live offers that require a minimum order value before they pay anything at all.
Offers ending within seven days0%Share of live offers whose end date falls within seven days of the build date. Volatile by design; several hundred offers routinely share one end date.
Offers with no published end date51.5%Share of live offers whose publisher gives no end date. It does not mean they are permanent.

If you find something wrong
