AskTula Before You Pay Get started

How AskTula works

By Ravi Gupta, founder of AskTula · Updated 28 October 2026

AskTula tells you which of your credit cards to pay with, in exact rupees, and shows you the line in the bank's own published terms that says so. There are two ways to use it. One needs nothing from you at all. The other takes a minute once and then answers for your own wallet every time after, on WhatsApp or here on the site.

The quick way: check one payment, right now

The search box on the home page needs no account and no sign up. Type where you are buying and how much you are about to spend, and it answers.

What to type

The shop or the category, and the amount. “Flipkart, 42000”. “Petrol, 2000”. “Swiggy, 700”.

What comes back

The card that pays the most on that purchase, the rupees it saves you, the cap that applies, and a link to the page the figure was read from with the date we read it.

What it cannot know

It does not know which cards you hold, so it answers for the best card available, not the best card you own.

The better way: save your cards once, then ask on WhatsApp

This is the way the product is meant to be used, and it is the only way the answers are about you.

Step one, save your cards on asktula.com

Sign up with your WhatsApp number. Add your cards by name, from a list. Add the payment apps you use.

We never ask for your card number, your CVV, your OTP or your UPI PIN.

Step two, ask on WhatsApp or on the site

After your cards are saved, ask on WhatsApp or on the site, whichever is convenient for you. Tell it the shop and the amount, the same way you would tell a friend. You can ask again whenever you are about to pay for something.

Step three, get the number and the source

The card to use, out of the ones you actually hold. The rupees you save. The cap that stops it. And the page the figure came from, with the date it was read.

What an answer actually contains

Four things, every time:

  • The card, named, from the ones you hold.
  • The saving, in rupees, for the amount you gave.
  • The cap, because a rate without its ceiling tells you nothing. A five percent offer that stops at a low cap pays less than a two percent offer that does not stop.
  • The source and the date, so you can check us. Every figure links to the bank's, the shop's or the card network's own page, and shows the day it was read.

What we cover

Offers published by banks, by shops and by card networks, across online shopping, food delivery, travel, flights, hotels, fuel, groceries, dining, movies, railways and more.

For each one we record the rate, the cap and the period it resets over, any minimum spend, the payment route it needs, what it excludes, and when it ends. Those conditions are usually what decides whether an offer pays you anything, and they are usually what is left off the banner.

Why bother

The number on the poster is rarely the number you get. A cap can stop a cashback offer long before you reach it. A minimum spend can mean a purchase just under it earns nothing at all. Paying by UPI instead of by card can switch an offer off. Most people carry three or four cards and remember the rules of none of them, so the decision gets made by whichever card is on top.

Checking takes a few seconds. The difference between the card you would have used and the right one is real money, and it is already written down in terms the bank has published.

What we are not

We are not a bank, we do not issue cards, and we are not affiliated with any bank or card network. We take no money from any bank, card issuer or shop, and no card is ranked higher because of a commercial relationship. Offers are ranked by the size of the saving alone.

We do not give financial advice. We tell you what published terms say a card pays. Whether to use a card, or to get one, is your decision.

Publishers change their offers, sometimes without notice, so a figure can be out of date by the time you pay. That is why every figure links to the publisher's own page. Before a large purchase, check it.
