How long a credit card offer actually lasts

Updated 30 September 2026

It depends entirely on who published the offer. Bank earn rates are semi-permanent and change a few times a year. Merchant and network offers are campaigns and frequently run for days. In our database, 0 offers, or 0.0% of everything we hold, expire within the next seven days.

Two different kinds of offer, two different lifespans

An earn rate published by your bank is part of the card's design and tends to persist. A sale offer published by a merchant or a card network exists for a campaign and then stops. Treating them as the same thing is how people end up at a checkout expecting a discount that ended last week.

Half of them publish no end date at all

5,885 offers, 51.5% of the database, carry no usable end date. That does not mean they are permanent. It means the terms do not state an end, and the offer can be withdrawn. An offer with no published end date should be checked on the day you intend to use it, not assumed.

This is why offer lists go stale

Any article listing the best offers on a merchant is accurate on the day it is written and decays from there. 5,885 of the offers we hold carry no published end date at all, so they can be withdrawn without one, and the rest end on dates that cluster: a single day can take several thousand offers with it. If a page does not show you when each offer was read and when it ends, it is not telling you enough to act on.

What we do about it

Every offer on this site carries the date it expires and the date we read it from the published terms. Offers past their end date are removed automatically when the site rebuilds, and a page whose offers have all ended is taken down rather than left up. That is the only honest way to publish data that moves this fast.

Figures on this page are computed from AskTula's offer database, 11,437 live offers read from published terms across 593 cards and 47 issuers, as read on 30 September 2026. They describe what issuers, merchants and card networks publish, not what any individual card will pay you.
