This Privacy Policy explains what information AskTula ("AskTula", "we", "us") collects when you use our website, WhatsApp service, and app, how we use it, and the choices you have. AskTula is operated from Chhattisgarh, India. By using AskTula, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to give you an accurate answer:
- Payment methods you own, by name only. For example "HDFC Millennia", "Paytm", or "ICICI Amazon Pay". These are labels, not account details. We never collect card numbers, expiry dates, CVV, OTP, UPI PIN, bank login details, or any credential.
- Your requests. The merchant, order amount, and product details you share with us, by message, shared link, or screenshot, so we can compare offers for that order.
- Contact identifier. Your WhatsApp number, name, and optional email, so we can reply to you and remember your saved payment methods between chats.
- Basic usage information. Standard technical data such as device type and app or message interactions, used to keep the service working and to improve it.
2. How we use your information
- To calculate and show you the cheapest way to pay for your order.
- To remember which payment methods you own, so you don't re-enter them each time.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
3. How we make money, and how it affects you
AskTula is free to use. When you choose to buy through a link we provide, or apply for a card we suggest, we may earn a referral commission. This never changes the answer we give you: our rankings are calculated on the actual savings to you, before any commission is considered. The best offer always wins, even when it earns us nothing.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. Ever. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers who help us run AskTula (for example, secure hosting, messaging, and analytics providers), under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to operate the service.
- Legal requirements, where we are required by applicable law or a valid legal request.
- Aggregated, anonymised insights. We may share or publish trends about payment offers that do not identify you as an individual.
5. Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your rights" below).
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Because we deliberately never collect payment credentials, the most sensitive category of data simply never exists in our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect what little we hold.
7. Your rights
In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you may:
- Access the information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- Ask us to delete your information;
- Withdraw your consent to our use of your information.

8. Children
AskTula is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Third-party services
AskTula works alongside services such as WhatsApp and the merchants and banks whose offers we compare. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. Card, wallet, and merchant names are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
